Description
Located in Southern California, Eisenhower Health is a not-for-profit hospital seeking a Cancer Registrar II-Cancer Registry.
Job Objective:
Analyzes clinical cancer information and independently completes patient abstracts in accordance with all national requirements set by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the California Cancer Registry.

Requirements
Cancer Registrar II-Cancer Registry must meet the following qualifications:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree; College level Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology Courses
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in Allied Health Field
Licensure/Certification:
- Required: Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
Experience:
- Preferred: Experience in a Cancer Registry
Specialty Skills:
- Working knowledge of standards and requirements of American College of Surgeons standards (ACoS) Commission on Cancer; Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER), International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-O);American Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC) staging, Collaborative Staging, Multiple Primary Histology Coding (MPH); Solid Tumor Rules; Hematopoietic Manual and Database; and California Cancer Registry Standards
- Proficient knowledge of the cancer disease process as related to diagnosis, treatments, extent of disease, staging, and disease progression
- Excellent working knowledge of Medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and related health sciences
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications
- Ability to positively interface with other departments, medical offices, physicians and agencies
- Team player that is able to work independently with strong organizational skills and effectively multi-task
- Knowledge of software systems including: IkeNet, IKEMD, Horizon Patient Folder(HPF), SEER Rx and Accurint
