KWB Pathology Associates, a unique 100% pathologist-owned laboratory located in Tallahassee, Florida, is seeking two Full-Time Histology Technicians to join our team! One position is at our lab and the other one is at our lab inside the main hospital.  We have proudly served the greater Big Bend area of Florida for over half a century, striving for excellence in caring for our patients, clients, and employees.

Pay is negotiable.  Dayshift hours.

Education/Experience:

•             Current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license or HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required 
•             Two years’ Histotechnician experience preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

•             Processing, embedding, and cutting of tissue specimens
•             Staining and cover-slipping of slides
•             Performing special and immunohistochemical staining procedures
•             Performing frozen section procedures
•             Labeling, correlating, distributing, and filing slides
•             Performing and documenting quality control
•             Reagent maintenance and cleaning of processors and stainers
•             Other laboratory duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

•             Lifting, carrying, pushing up to 25 lbs
•             Standing, kneeling, bending
•             Repetitive motion tasks for extended periods
•             Ability to discern color

            Ability to work with/around laboratory chemicals/fumes
