Nestled near the stunning beaches of Southwest Florida, Golisano Children’s Hospital at Lee Health is a modern, state-of-the-art facility delivering vital and lifesaving care for children and their families throughout the region. The 135 bed regional hospital cares for children across five counties and is the only children’s hospital between Tampa and Miami. Golisano provides a variety of specialized services for our community’s children ranging from emergency care to behavioral health, surgery to critical care, orthopedics, cancer treatment, cardiology, and more. The hospital features a 36-bed medical/surgical unit, a 16-bed PICU, and a 70-bed NICU with 24/7 neonatology coverage.
Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 17,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,200 employed primary care and specialty care providers with over 100 practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one children’s hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds.
Position Information:
The Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Golisano Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist Hospitalist to join our team.
Our comprehensive program includes an outpatient clinic with 6 exam rooms, 10-room infusion center, outpatient procedure facilities and a 13-bed inpatient unit, all conveniently located on the 5th floor of Golisano Children’s Hospital. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing program at Golisano Children’s Hospital. With around 60 newly diagnosed oncology patients a year and over 200 sickle cell patients as well as a comprehensive neuro-oncology program and vascular malformations program. The candidate will care for to the full scope of both Hematology and Oncology. We count on an extensive multidisciplinary team including APHON certified/chemotherapy certified nurses, social workers, child life specialists, a pediatric psychologist, a nurse educator, and two research coordinators. Additionally, both our Ft Myers and Naples clinics have a cutting edge 270-degree immersion room that provides entertainment to our patients during prolonged infusions. We are active members of COG through the Florida Pediatric NCORP. Our division is also fortunate to have one of our part-time providers hybrid to Medical Informatics to tailor BEACON on our EPIC EMR to the needs of our specialty.
Currently, this is an inpatient services position for 7 days on/7 days off, rounding daily when on service model. Average inpatient census is 8-10 patients.
