Overview
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, a Nurse Practitioner is involved in the care of individuals who are undergoing treatment for cancer or other related diagnoses. Through a team-based-care approach, they will educate patients on treatments, provide post-operative care, build patient relationships through long term follow-up clinics, and provide other general support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultations and evaluate patients in office setting with supervision and clinical guidance as needed.
- Evaluate patients undergoing chemotherapy and coordinate treatments.
- Participate in clinical research and manage patients undergoing treatment on clinical trials.
- Perform minor office procedures and post-operative care with minimal supervision.
- Augment the physician's ability to provide medical services to gyn oncology patients
- Contribute to excellent patient care, research, teaching, and leadership within the organization.
- Rounding at affiliated hospitals, and some weekend after-hour calls.
Education:
As required by licensure.
Experience:
Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 3 years of experience in gynecologic oncology specialty.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current applicable state OR and WA RN license required.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required.
- Applicable OR and WA state license as a Nurse Practitioner w/Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to hire.
