- Experience with and commitment to cancer clinical trials and research is highly desirable
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) is seeking a Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgical oncologist to join its high-volume Liver, Pancreas and Complex GI Program. This individual will join a multidisciplinary team of subspecialized physicians, and highly trained clinical and support services staff members who are committed to making a difference in their chosen field and to providing excellent patient care.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Board-certified general surgeon
- Fellowship training in surgical oncology and/or hepatobiliary surgery
- 5-8 years of clinical and leadership experience preferred
LIVER AND PANCREAS PROGRAM
NHCI’s Liver, Pancreas and Complex GI Program offers a full continuum of care that encompasses the entire patient experience. Multidisciplinary team members meet weekly to discuss each patient’s treatment options and agree upon a highly personalized treatment plan, incorporating the latest in technology and research.
Program Goals
- Deliver excellent patient care and outcomes utilizing a multidisciplinary approach
- Provide leadership in prevention, screening, and education through NHCI’s
- robust Genetic Counseling and Survivorship Programs
- Offer ease of access to care that includes state-of-the-art clinical research trials
NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL CANCER INSTITUTE
Over the past decade, Northside has established a reputation for excellence in oncology. Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) has become one of the largest and most respected providers of cancer care in the Southeast with over 17,000 new cancer cases in 2024 and services provided at 55+ locations. The NHCI, accredited by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer, is an Integrated Network Cancer Program recognized for providing high quality, comprehensive cancer care which includes screening, diagnosis, research, treatment, and support services. Awarded its first grant in 2014, NHCI is one of only thirty-two community sites nationwide to lead a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). The Georgia NCORP provides patients throughout the state access to clinical trials while remaining in their local community.
