- International Ph.D. Student Recruitment
Description
The Laboratory of Clinical and Molecular Glycobiology (LCMG), part of the Institute of Glycomics (IOG) established in 2023 at Shantou University Medical College, is now accepting applications for the international Ph.D. students for the Fall 2026 intake. Dedicated to investigating the biological role of altered glycosylation in proteins and nucleic acids within the context of human health and disease, the IOG is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including high-resolution mass spectrometry, confocal microscopy, single-cell flow cytometry, and other advanced molecular biology instruments. The leading Principal Investigator, Professor Shuang Yang, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and brings extensive prior research experience from Johns Hopkins University and the Food and Drug Administration; his distinguished track record, which includes over 100 peer-reviewed publications and more than 20 patents, encompasses expertise in glycoproteomics, nucleic acid glycosylation, inflammation, tumor biology, and neurodegenerative diseases.
