Medical Director, 100% Interventional Radiology, No general radiology
Mass General Brigham (MGB) is recruiting fellowship-trained interventional radiologists as a Medical Director to be part of the MGB initiative to bring high-level radiology services to communities in the Seacoast area. The position is within the Division of Interventional Radiology in the MGB Enterprise Service Group. The Enterprise Service Group at Mass General Brigham is a team of sub-specialized radiologists developed to improve patient access to healthcare and support unprecedented volume growth across multiple community hospitals and imaging centers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
The Medical Director of Interventional Radiology (IR) at Wentworth Douglass Hospital (WDH) is responsible for day-to-day management of Interventional Radiology professional operations. This position plays a critical role in facilitating IR clinical workflows, quality assurance, faculty oversight, and patient care at the WDH campus, Mass General Brigham. The Medical Director will work closely with Mass General Brigham (MGB) Enterprise Radiology IR Division Chief, technical leadership, faculty members, and staff to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and the development of IR faculty members.
Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily professional operations within IR at WDH, ensuring efficient, patient-centered workflows.
- Monitor performance and service metrics, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
- Develop and implement standardized protocols to optimize patient care across different sites.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to enhance patient access, appointment scheduling, and procedural efficiency.
- Address unwarranted variations in clinical performance and work with faculty to implement solutions.
Quality and Safety
- Ensure high standards of patient safety and quality of care in all IR procedures.
- Monitor and analyze clinical performance metrics to improve patient outcomes.
- Support quality assurance and peer review programs in alignment with departmental policies.
- Participate in safety reviews and lead efforts to mitigate risks associated with IR procedures.
Faculty Oversight & Administration
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in interventional radiology.
- Provide career development guidance to faculty members, supporting their clinical growth.
- Monitor faculty workload, clinical productivity, and time allocation to ensure a balanced and effective work environment.
- Ensure compliance with professional and institutional standards.
- Fosters a supportive and professional work environment.
