Remuneration:
Remuneration value up to $528,463 p.a. comprising salary between $256,246 p.a. - $271,430 p.a. (L25-L27) or remuneration value up to $483,619 p.a. comprising salary between $215,078 p.a. - $249,046 p.a. (L18-L24); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover, plus overtime and on-call allowances.
About the Unit
The Oncology Unit at MBH currently has 3 experienced part-time medical oncologists. We provide inpatient ward rounds and daily outpatient clinical services including telehealth to regional hospitals. Our day unit is staffed by trained oncology nurses and pharmacists and administers treatments 5 days per week.
Your opportunity
This position provides the chance to join a busy oncology unit already staffed by dedicated medical oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals. There is an opportunity for the right applicant to take on a leadership role within the team, and further develop the existing oncology service, especially in the area of clinical research.
- Collaborate with the other oncologists in the clinical leadership of the Oncology Unit.
- Oversee the practice and training of the oncology registrars and RMOs.
- Guide the care of oncology inpatients, ambulatory outpatients and those receiving infusions.
- Work closely with pharmacy, day infusion staff and oncology nurses in the provision of chemotherapy.
- Participate in teaching of junior doctors and medical students.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Provide consultative inpatient advice to other craft groups.
- Contribute to service development.
- This role reports directly to Clinical Director of Medicine and professionally to the Executive Director Medical Services.
