The Opportunity
As the ANZ Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will serve as the scientific voice bridging clinical evidence and real-world practice. This field-based role places you at the forefront of our client's commercial launch, working closely with healthcare professionals to drive evidence-based adoption of innovative diagnostic technologies.
- Serve as the primary scientific and clinical expert for the company's diagnostic products, with immediate focus on their flagship colorectal cancer diagnostic
- Engage with key healthcare professionals including gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and general practitioners across Australia
- Develop and maintain a structured Key Opinion Leader engagement plan, identifying influential clinicians and institutions
- Deliver high-quality educational presentations on colorectal cancer pathways, diagnostic options, and clinical applications
- Provide scientific support during clinician meetings where deeper clinical discussion or evidence interpretation is required
- Gather and report medical insights from the field to inform commercial strategy, product development, and future clinical research
- Contribute to the development of scientifically accurate educational materials for healthcare professionals
- Support educational activities at clinical meetings, hospital departments, conferences, and professional society events
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, marketing, regulatory, and operations to ensure alignment between scientific evidence and commercial strategy
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison, clinical specialist, or scientific field role within diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals
- Experience in in vitro diagnostics (IVD), oncology, gastroenterology, or pathology is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of the Australian healthcare system, clinical referral pathways, and diagnostic testing environment
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data to healthcare professionals
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with proven ability to engage medical audiences
- Strong capacity to build credibility and trust with clinicians and key opinion leaders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Willingness to travel interstate and occasionally internationally (approximately 30–40%)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a field-based role
