Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists, a proud Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine to join our specialty team. We provide 24/7 emergency and urgent care for dogs and cats across Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming, with specialty services including Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, and Urgent Care.
Our team is deeply committed to the human-animal bond and works collaboratively with referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcomes for every patient.
What You’ll Do
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting complex medical cases by:
- Supporting veterinarians during internal medicine exams, diagnostics, and procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with procedures and post-operative care
- Preparing patients and instruments for procedures and advanced diagnostics
- Monitoring and interpreting vital signs, including blood pressure, ECG, SpO₂, and EtCO₂
- Providing high-quality nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients
- Collecting laboratory samples (blood, urine, tissue) and performing in-house diagnostics
- Operating digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Accurately documenting patient histories and medical records
- Maintaining clean, organized, and sterile treatment, exam, and lab areas
- Using safe restraint techniques and following established protocols
- Collaborating closely with technicians, assistants, doctors, and support staff to support efficient patient flow
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of emergency or specialty veterinary technician experience
- ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and procedural support experience
- Comfort monitoring ASA I-III patients (ASA IV-V experience preferred)
- Familiarity with ventilators preferred
- Strong critical-thinking, attention to detail, and observational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
