Department Overview The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology is a fully independent academic department within the OHSU School of Medicine, with its own admitting service, outpatient clinics, and comprehensive procedural practice. Interventional Radiology at OHSU is a free-standing academic department distinct from Diagnostic Imaging. The Department has clinical sections at the main campus in Body IR and Neuro IR, and we also have two additional sections serving area contracted hospitals and the Portland Veterans Administration. The Body & Vascular IR section at OHSU performs over 5,000 cases per year with a high case-mix complexity and consistent year-over-year growth. Our faculty members provide the full spectrum of diagnostic angiography, interventional radiology, and interventional oncology services.
Beyond clinical excellence, the Dotter Department is home to one of the nation's largest IR residency programs, providing a unique opportunity to train and mentor the next generation of interventional radiology leaders. As the birthplace of IR, Dotter continues to advance the specialty through innovation and high-impact research. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to academic interventional radiology, education, and research.
Joining OHSU means becoming part of an institution in active, meaningful expansion. Our growth reflects a deep commitment to advancing complex care and bringing the latest innovations directly to patients. Central to this momentum is Vista Pavilion, a state-of-the-art, 14-story inpatient facility that opened April 2026 on Marquam Hill, adding significant capacity for adult cancer care and other complex needs. For Interventional Radiology faculty, this expansion translates directly into greater clinical opportunity — more complex oncology cases, deeper multidisciplinary collaboration, and a growing patient population that demands the full breadth of IR expertise.
The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $502,248 - $623,955; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay, hiring bonuses, or additional benefits such as retirement contributions.
