Your Next Career Adventure Starts at Guardian!

Looking for more than just your next job? At Guardian Veterinary Specialists (GVS), you can advance your career, collaborate with talented specialists, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families—all while enjoying the lifestyle of New York's beautiful Hudson Valley.

As a privately owned, independent specialty and emergency hospital, Guardian is passionate about progressive medicine, compassionate care, and investing in the people who make exceptional veterinary medicine possible. We're looking for a dedicated Veterinary Oncologist to join our growing team!

Advanced Medicine. Exceptional Team. Exciting Opportunities.

Guardian cares for approximately 30,000 patients each year and offers comprehensive specialty and emergency services, including 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery.

Our modern, full-service facility is equipped to support advanced diagnostics and complex patient care, featuring:

  • Four surgery suites, 14 exam rooms, a sophisticated ICU, and an isolation ward.
  • An in-house diagnostic laboratory and advanced imaging, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital X-ray.
  • Endoscopy, a dedicated rehabilitation center with a water treadmill, and a private room for families to spend meaningful time with their pets.
  • Radiation therapy planned for the near future, creating exciting opportunities for the continued development of our oncology services.

As an oncologist at Guardian, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, manage complex cancer cases, and guide families through challenging diagnoses with compassion and expertise.

Invest in the Future of Veterinary Medicine

We believe exceptional medicine grows through education, mentorship, and collaboration. Guardian supports the next generation of veterinary professionals through our intern and resident programs and an exceptional clinical training program for Long Island University (LIU) veterinary students.

You'll join a team that values professional development, continued learning, and the shared knowledge that advances patient care.

Compassion That Extends Beyond Our Hospital

Through our partnership with HEALS (Help Emergency Animals Live Safely), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the tristate area and beyond, we help provide financial assistance for life-saving veterinary care to at-risk pet owners and rescue animals.

Our commitment reflects a simple belief: financial hardship should not stand in the way of compassionate care, and every animal deserves a chance at a healthier life.

A Workplace That Supports You

We know veterinary medicine is demanding, and caring for our team is just as important as caring for our patients. Guardian fosters a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth, with resources designed to support both your career and personal well-being.

Our team has access to an on-staff certified life coach and social worker, alongside opportunities for continuing education, mentorship, training, and collaboration across specialties.
