Description
The Position:
Full-time or part-time position for Breast Radiologist sought to join a 40+ radiologist Independent Private Practice affiliated with an academic medical center. Fellowship training is preferred. Radiologists with substantial experience in Breast will also be considered in the absence of a Fellowship, as will those with a Breast mini-Fellowship during their residency.
Ideal skills are tomosynthesis, screening breast ultrasound, and breast MRI, along with biopsies using US, stereotactic, and MRI guidance. If you do not currently do biopsies or MRI, we can train or refresh you internally.
We enjoy a collegial and collaborative relationship with our breast surgery, oncology and radiation oncology colleagues, with emphasis on a team approach to breast cancer detection and treatment. Participation in a weekly breast multidisciplinary conference is encouraged.
Our practice includes more than 60,000 breast examinations a year. At least 4 radiologists do only breast imaging all day at the Baystate Breast and Wellness Center. This is a beautiful facility that has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the ACR.
Breast imager participates in the general call pool (X-rays, US, and ED CTs). Internal call market allows for frequency to be adjusted up or down. As a plus, most evenings are covered by a dedicated team, limiting late night work for the rest of the group.
Partnership tract of one year. Able to be full-time or fractional FTE, while still being an equitable partner.
Ability to maintain your non-breast skills! Can read in other sections that you are skilled at and passionate about.
Collegial group with teamwork mentality.
Resident Education is a valued part of the job, supporting a 20 person radiology residency. Additional educational endeavors are available though not required.
Great benefits package, including health and dental with group subsidized HSA, maximized 401(k), and option of cash balance plan.
There is no expectation of Neuro MRI, MSK MRI, Body MRI, Neuro CTA, Nuclear, Pediatrics, or non-breast interventions, unless you are Fellowship trained and wish to participate in these areas.
The Practice:
Radiology and Imaging Inc. is a 40+ radiologist private practice based at the 714 bed teaching hospital of Baystate Medical Center. We also provide services to 3 smaller hospitals and also outpatient offices.
There are 5 residents a year and teaching is part of the position. Research opportunities are present but there is not a fixed expectation of research. Baystate is a regional campus of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Part time partners are entirely normalized within our group and 2 of our current breast imagers are.
Do you have a second Fellowship? This is an ideal location to practice your two specialties at a large teaching hospital.
We are a collegial group and encourage a cooperative teamwork approach to each day's work.
WE WELCOME THOSE WHO PREFER TO WORK PART TIME, AND ARE UNUSUAL IN OFFERING PARTNERSHIP TRACK FOR LESS THAN 1.0 FTEs FROM DAY ONE.
Part-time is entirely normalized in our practice, with over 1/3 of current partners working less than 1.0FTE. We are leaders in encouraging part-time schedules while maintaining the benefits of partnership. There is also substantial flexibility in increasing or decreasing your call frequency.
