IT Operations Specialist- Network

Department

IT- Operations and Continuous Improvement

We are seeking energetic, forward-thinking professionals to join our Manufacturing IT Operations organization. As part of that team, you will help launch our new IT Operating Model focused on aligning IT support to meet business objectives and enable our manufacturing sites to increase production of critical pharmaceutical products for our patients around the world.

In this role you will partner with business & site IT leaders to learn about manufacturing and its reliance on IT infrastructure, services and applications, and work closely with global IT teams to provide a reliable digital foundation. In addition, the candidate will need to promote the IT strategy to business partners and work with them to implement IT innovations and initiatives while ensuring there is no impact to business operations. The IT Operations Specialist- Network will need to have a strong technical skillset, good leadership qualities, strong communication and project management skills. After hours availability is required in order to respond to emergencies, and to perform system maintenance that cannot be completed during normal business hours.

Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications and experience:

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • MSc Degree or BSc Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience

Related Experience:
  • At least 5 years in providing technical operation support and service delivery in Data Network and Unified Communication areas
  • 2 years experience as a Tier3 engineer in an Enterprise level NOC
  • 2 years of hands on experience with Cisco Asa and PaloAlto firewalls
  • Wide experience with Cisco, F5
  • Good knowledge of ITIL processes or similar best practices (Eg; Change, Incident, Problem management)
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and fixing complex networking issues.
  • Strong working knowledge in the following areas;
  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • SDN (Cisco ACI), DMVPN
  • Perimeter Security (Cisco ASA, SourceFire, Palo Alto, Pulse Secure)
  • Monitoring and reporting tool such as or similar to (example ServONE, Glueware, NetBrain)
  • DNS/DHCP via IPAM tool like QIP
  • Experience with scripting and DevOps tools and languages (e.g. Python, GitHub, etc.)
  • Cisco WAAS and QOS will be an advantage
  • Experience with Global IT operations following the sun support
  • Ability to work independently and to deliver projects effectively
  • The Cisco CCNP certification is required
  • The Cisco CCNA Security certification will be an advantage
  • Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCIE, PMP are a very welcome plus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills within a matrix organization
  • Proven people management skills are a very welcome plus
  • Fluent English in both verbal and written forms is a must
  • Being able to work under pressure with limited supervision
  • Ability to create positive relationships at all levels across different groups & teams.
  • Being able to review priorities and adjust them quickly and work on tight deadlines
  • Proven experience with working across technical and business teams to achieve common objectives and good customer experience


Preferred Qualifications & Experiences
  • Experience working in a VLAN environment
  • Experience in a GMP regulated industry
  • ITIL Foundations certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Knowledge of storage hardware, ability to monitor capacity/performance planning, and troubleshoot issues
  • Prior experience in capacity, demand and vendor management

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple small/medium projects at the same time
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understands cross-cultural business practices; demonstrates a sensitivity and awareness to other people and culture. Possess ability to build rapport with a diverseworkforcein multicultural settings
  • Possess strong negotiation skills; demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate
  • Fluent in English, in both oral and written communication


Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Support for demand management- planning, implementation and deployment of network related projects driven from business and IT initiatives
  • Assess network related requirements to meet site business driven investment projects and partner with corporate Network Services team to deliver requirements in line with project needs
  • Assess business impact of firmware upgrades and device replacements, and align to negotiated maintenance windows so there is no disruption to the business
  • Troubleshoot and partner with corporate Network Services team to resolve incidents related to LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewalls and DNS
  • Manage VLANs and support provisioning of new equipment on them
  • Network performance monitoring to ensure network capacity it sized to meet business needs
  • Device monitoring to proactively identify and resolve issues before they disrupt service
  • Firewall monitoring to ensure data transmission is not impeded by firewall rules
  • Scoping of new firewall rules or change to existing rules when new IT infrastructure is added to the network
  • Adhere to project management and ITIL best practices and methodologies across projects while meeting time-lines, budgets and business deliverables
  • Ensure changes align to business priorities, and new devices are properly put in production by following standard processes
