Hematology/Oncology Opportunity in Galveston, TX
You'll step into a high-impact Hematology/Oncology role with real opportunity to shape a growing academic cancer program. This is a Hematologist/Oncologist position with flexibility for general Hem/Onc, benign hematology, or select oncology subspecialty focus. Practice Overview
- You'll join an expanding academic Hem/Onc division with multiple new physicians already committed and additional growth underway
- Clinical faculty role with options to develop a niche (general Hem/Onc, benign heme, BMT/cellular therapy, sickle cell, and other focused interests)
- High patient demand and established referral need; expect meaningful volume and the ability to make immediate impact
- Opportunities for teaching, research support, and infusion access advantages (including 340B pricing)
Schedule
- Full-time employed academic appointment with a clinically focused practice
- Clinic-forward schedule with room to incorporate procedures and subspecialty work based on your interests
- Call structure and clinic load will be clarified directly during conversations; expect a practical, team-based approach as the division grows
- Flexibility to align your mix of clinical, teaching, and program-building time as you ramp in
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary starting at approximately $330,000/year, guaranteed for your first 2 years
- RVU-based bonus potential for physicians who exceed productivity expectations
- Relocation assistance up to approximately $13,000 (structured per system policy, with some room for creative packaging)
- Comprehensive benefits package through a major academic employer (retirement, insurance options, and malpractice coverage)
Candidate Requirements
- Board eligible/board certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology (depending on your focus)
- Early-career physicians (0-3 years out of training) welcomed; mid-career candidates considered for leadership-forward roles
- Comfort with high patient volumes initially and interest in helping expand access across the region
- Interest in teaching fellows and participating in academic initiatives (as desired)
