The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cardiovascular Institute is recruiting a Full-Time, Cardio-Oncologist to join our team serving the Pittsburgh area. This is an opportunity to join one of the premier cardiac programs in the country providing superior care and access to a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team of specialists and innovative therapies, including many available only through clinical trials. AHN’s Cardio-Oncology program has grown over the last 10 years serving patients across the network and recently achieved the ICOS- Gold Status Center of Excellence Certification.
Highlights:
- Join and help lead an established, comprehensive, rapidly growing Cardio-Oncology program recognized as an ICOS Gold Status Center of Excellence.
- Opportunity to shape clinical programs, care pathways, and innovative approaches to cardiovascular risk assessment, surveillance, prevention, and management across the cancer care continuum.
- Foster collaborative relationships and strengthen multidisciplinary partnership across Cardio-Oncology, Oncology, Non-Invasive Imaging, surgical and interventional specialties.
- Enhance seamless, multidisciplinary patient care pathways and innovative diagnostic approaches.
- Provide expert consultation and longitudinal cardiovascular care for patients with cancer, including management of cardiovascular complications of contemporary cancer therapies and pre-existing cardiovascular disease.
- Hold academic appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine
- Advance cardio-oncology education for cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents through clinical teaching, didactic and case-based education, mentorship and scholarly activities.
- Lead and participate in clinical and population health research, quality improvement projects and clinical trials in Cardio-Oncology
- Clinical or Echo leadership opportunities may be available based on experience/interest.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills – eager to build bridges between differing specialties
- Demonstrated interest or fellowship training in Cardio-Oncology
- American Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
- Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
