Description
Integrity Veterinary Center is hiring an internist for our growing specialty and emergency hospital! We are a locally and privately owned hospital offering 24/7 emergency and ICU care, along with specialty services in internal medicine, nutrition, oncology, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and outpatient imaging (ultrasound and CT).
IVC’s internal medicine service is extremely busy, with fantastic clients and patients. One of our two internists recently transitioned out of clinical practice after 35 years (a remarkable achievement!), and we are looking for another colleague to join us!
At IVC, compassion, respect, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. Our hospital thrives on open communication, lifelong learning, and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of our patients, clients, and each other. We foster a culture of support, inclusivity, and shared knowledge. It is extremely important that we support each of our staff towards their professional goals, whether that is to be a high-level veterinary technician, train to be a VTS, or apply to vet school. We love teaching our next generation of veterinarians, and we are excited to be welcoming two rotating interns this summer!
Some Details About Us:
Work-Life Balance (actually work-life balance): You are welcome to set up your schedule in a way that works for you, and there is no on-call or weekend coverage expectation in the Internal Medicine department.
Benefits: Variable options for salary structure, plus health/dental/vision insurance, monthly pet insurance reimbursement, uniform stipend, 4 weeks of vacation, 1 week sick time, 1 week of continuing education (CE) time, and a CE stipend ($4000/year).
Kindness & Respect: All clients are required to sign a client conduct agreement at their first visit, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive client behavior. Clients who cannot abide by our client conduct agreement are promptly fired.
Healthy Staffing: Each specialist has three dedicated staff members (typically 2 nurses, 1 assistant) to keep their day running on schedule.
Professional Development: Our doctors and nurses love to teach! We host monthly anesthesia learning rounds via Zoom, along with a variety of other topic rounds to grow both clinical and life skills. Our nurses and assistants also have a structured training program with levels they work through, with regular skills checks and medical math/physiology written tests as they traverse between levels.
Involved Ownership: As a privately owned hospital, our hospital decision-makers are consistently on the floor with you, and want to hear your suggestions. Many of our biggest improvements originated as staff ideas, so we definitely want to hear them! It is difficult to adequately explain how strongly anti-corporate our owner is, but suffice to say you seriously do not need to worry about a corporate sale in the future.
Equipment and Such: We have full IDEXX in-house labs with an EPOC for blood gases/acid base, IDEXX DR system, Toshiba Aquilion 320 slice (yes) CT scanner, GE Versana Premier ultrasound, Keystone Asteris for our PACS, and Instinct for our EMR and treatment sheets. We also have a full Olympus endoscopy tower with various scope sizes and types for all of your scoping desires!
