Practice Setting

• Transfusion medicine and apheresis-focused pathology service
• Regional referral center with complex antibody workups
• Established pathology department with collaborative clinical pathologists
• Adult inpatient and outpatient patient population

Schedule

• Monday-Friday daytime schedule
• Standard 8am-5pm clinic hours
• Rotating night and weekend phone consult call
• Ongoing coverage tied to permanent recruitment

Cases and Procedures

• Apheresis oversight and therapeutic exchanges
• Transfusion medicine consultation and clinical rounding
• Massive transfusion protocols and refractory bleeding support
• Trauma, oncology, hematology, and OB hemorrhage cases

Requirements

• MD or DO required
• Active North Carolina license required
• Board Certification in Pathology required
• Blood Bank or Transfusion Medicine certification preferred
