Description
As a Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse at Trusted Health, you’ll deliver comprehensive care to adult oncology patients on a med-surg unit, managing complex treatment plans, chemotherapy, symptom management, and post-operative recovery. You’ll coordinate with oncologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams, perform thorough assessments, administer medications and infusions, and respond to acute changes. You’ll educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and home care, while using evidence-based practice and EHR systems to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology patients on a med-surg unit
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive infusions per protocol
Conduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring of patient status
Manage post-operative care, pain control, and symptom management
Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge care
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR accurately and timely
Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and oncology-specific protocols
Participate in care conferences and quality improvement initiatives
Support patients and families with compassionate, culturally sensitive communication
Oncology nursing care

Intravenous (IV) therapy

Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation
Pain and symptom management
Care coordination and discharge planning
