Practice Manager – EPIC Specialty & Emergency Pet Care (Tampa Bay, FL)

About the Role
The Practice Manager plays a critical leadership role in hospital operations, team development, and overall performance. You’ll partner closely with leadership to ensure an outstanding experience for both clients and team members while driving operational excellence.
This role includes limited weekend availability, with a requirement of two weekend days per month (one Saturday and one Sunday) to support hospital operations and team alignment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support a high-performing team across ER and specialty services
- Oversee employee scheduling and staffing optimization to ensure efficiency, coverage, and team sustainability
- Drive daily hospital operations, workflow efficiency, and continuous process improvement
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
- Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, budgeting, and performance goals
- Manage labor costs, staffing hours, and departmental budgets with a strong understanding of financial performance
- Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development of team members
- Ensure exceptional client service and confidently navigate challenging client situations with professionalism and empathy
- Must be a creative thinker able to solve on going presenting daily challenges
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of leadership experience (veterinary or healthcare preferred)
- Strong expertise in scheduling, staffing models, and operational optimization
- Proven ability to manage labor budgets, control costs, and understand key financial drivers of a hospital
- Confidence and professionalism in handling difficult client interactions and escalations
- A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with strong decision-making skills
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and drive accountability
- Flexibility to support hospital needs, including two weekend days per month (one Saturday and one Sunday)
