The Senior Director, Governance and Lifecycle Management in the Global Scientific Communications organization is a key member of the Global Scientific Communications Leadership Team, responsible for driving enterprise-wide content governance and lifecycle strategy across Scientific Communications deliverables, establishing and maintaining communication standards and governance policies to drive impactful, end-to-end data dissemination. This role involves ensuring that GSK's data dissemination initiatives adhere to company and industry-level best practices in the delivery of impactful integrated medical communication plans (IMCPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and leads the enterprise-wide content governance and lifecycle strategy for global scientific communications, ensuring seamless, compliant execution from concept through localization and delivery across all channels.
- Drives standardization and operational excellence by building scalable, end-to-end processes that enable consistency, efficiency, and quality across the organization.
- Serves as a central orchestrator across stakeholders, aligning medical, legal, digital, procurement, and broader global cross-functional teams to enable effective decision-making and streamlined content delivery.
- Sets the vision for Veeva Vault-enabled content operations, ensuring optimized, scalable, end-to-end workflows that accelerate efficiency and impactful delivery.
- Ensures compliance in all global scientific communications workflows by design, embedding regulatory, legal, and quality standards into workflows while maintaining agility and speed to market. Partner with stakeholders to ensure all workflows are optimized to enable effective measurement of content and transformed through AI utilization.
- Build and maintain clear governance frameworks and accountability models, enabling transparency, ownership, and disciplined execution across teams.
- Design and implement best practices for Scientific Communications IMCP deliverables, ensuring alignment with GSK's scientific communications objectives.
- Champions continuous improvement and transformation, identifying opportunities to optimize content development, AI and metrics utilization, approval, and distribution through data, insights, and innovation.
- Deliver training to medical teams to ensure understanding and implementation of communication standards and policies.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to drive alignment and integration of scientific communications activities with global medical objectives.
- Monitors agency performance through structured oversight, consolidating performance insights with procurement to optimize partnerships and drive value across scientific communications activities.
- Stay updated on advancements in scientific communications to ensure content and channel approaches continuously evolve with the external landscape.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-graduate degree (Masters, Doctoral or Professional) in science, medicine, or pharmacy
- 10 or more years of experience in scientific communications, medical content design and delivery, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Experience with Veeva Vault, including the ability to design, implement and optimize workflows in complex, cross-functional matrix environments.
- Experience in industry-level best practices and guidance to ensure compliant and impactful creation and delivery of scientific communications
- Experience working with scientific communication platforms, publication standards, narratives, medical content creation, medical channel strategy, and other medical communication deliverables
- Project management experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional leaders and managing matrix relationships within a global organization
- Experience in digital content creation and management tools with technical experience utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, and Team sites
- Experience interpreting, analyzing, organizing, and presenting complex data to a broad range of audiences
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD or PharmD degree
- Local, regional, or global medical or R&D experience with relevant expertise in therapeutic area
- Scientific communication strategies for large global markets in US, UK, EU, China and Japan
- Knowledge of ABPI and EFPIA codes of practice, and other regulatory frameworks
