Description
The Department of Surgery and Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at Vanderbilt Health is seeking a fellowship-trained Surgical Oncologist with a focus on Cutaneous and Soft Tissue Malignancies. The position would support growth of our surgical oncology services, with particular focus on practice and program development at our Vanderbilt Health regional cancer sites. The Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at Vanderbilt Health currently has 18 faculty with two of them focused on Cutaneous and Soft Tissue Malignancies.
The Cutaneous Malignancy program is integral to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. The surgeon would join a busy and growing multidisciplinary team of providers including 18 surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, plastic surgeons, dermatologists and radiation oncologists. Applicants of all levels of experience with a particular enthusiasm towards program growth and development, are encouraged to apply. There is a robust clinical and academic infrastructure to support our commitment to patient care, education and research. There is a large portfolio of clinical trials covering the spectrum of malignancies, many of which are investigator initiated. The surgical oncology program has a dedicated NIH T-32 training grant.
Eligible candidates must be board certified in general surgery, able to obtain and maintain a Tennessee Medical License and have completed an SSO or ACGME approved complex general surgical oncology fellowship. Applicants should have a strong commitment to patient care and education and an interest in clinical research. Job responsibilities include participation in clinical and academic activities as they relate to the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery and the Department of Surgery. The candidate will work closely with the Division Chief, other members of the Surgical Oncology team, division and other disciplines.
